There is a strong need for public awareness. It is not enough to know. It is needed to act. Why action is missing? Are we so individualistic? No. But why we are not acting on it?
Basically, collective action requires a totem, an individual who, knowing the risks involved, will step up, stand up, and provide the lead. Sadly, neither our political class nor our civil society has thus far provided that totem, that champion.
